Pasta Jay’s in Lone Tree is supporting breast Cancer awareness with our Drink Pink Menu.   Stop by with your friends, have a drink, and help fight this disease that has affected so many.

Pasta Jay’s Lone Tree hosted Celebrity Bartender Night Friday night.  Over 15 retired NFL, AFL, MLB and Boxing Champions took over the restaurant and worked for tips, with all money raised going to benefit the Military Family Relief Fund.

The Military Family Relief Fund assists Colorado military families impacted by mobilization, including National Guard members and reservists deployed as a result of mobilizations since 9/11. It also provides financial assistance for active duty military members deployed to hostile fire zones.  Not only does the fund make up loss in salary, but families may also qualify for help defraying increased expenses for food, housing, utilities, medical service, and other expenses incurred when a family member leaves civilian employment.

Pasta Jay’s at Lone Tree Fundraiser

Pasta Jay’s,  in Lone Tree is raising funds for Kids Mobility Network on Sunday, August 30, 2009.  The restaurant will generously donate 15% of all sales to the Kdis Mobility Network.    Invite your friends for a delicious mean, and to help some great kids!

Based in the Denver, Colorado, Kids Mobility Network, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is changing the lives of children with disabilities by providing durable medical equipment (“DME”) such as walkers and wheelchairs to children whose families are underinsured or uninsured.

The goal of Kids Mobility Network is to optimize the use of durable medical equipment to enhance the lives of children with disabilities.  DME is critical to the development of children – both physically and socially!

Because children often outgrow their equipment long before its useful life is exhausted, Kids Mobility Network collects used DME, reconditions it, and provides it to appropriate children to enhance their lives.

“DME provides greater safety, mobility and independence for children in their important development years.  It is so important for children to have the necessary equipment that allows them to optimize interaction with their peers.  It helps them to develop important relationships, social skills and self-confidence.”

On June 29, 2009, Pasta Jay’s will cater the Buffs4Life Foundation’s Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Omni Interlocken.

www.Buffs4Life.com:   “We are excited to announce the dates for the 4th annual Buffs 4 Life golf tournament.  We look forward to building on last years’ success as the foundation continues to grow.  We have events taking place on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th with the golf tournament taking place at the Omni Interlocken on Monday, June 29th.  We are excited to be working again with vendors such as Bonefish, Cool River Cantina, Grey Goose and Miller Coors.  Participants will also receive a great gift bag with items from Adidas, Reebok and CU apparel. Who are Buffs4Life?

In 2005, a group of former Buffs, who were an integral part of the turnaround in CU’s football fortunes in the mid 1980’s, became aware that one of their teammates, Anthony Weatherspoon (Spoon), had been diagnosed with leukemia. His prognosis was bleak and the gravity of the illness hit his family hard in many aspects, including financially. As the burden of medical costs overwhelmed his family, his friends and teammates wanted to help.

 

The idea of establishing an organization predicated on Buffs helping Buffs in need was born. Spoon’s reputation as being a hardnosed and powerful fullback is synonymous with CU’s return to greatness, but his influence off the field is his greatest legacy. Even though Spoon lost his battle to leukemia later that year, his spirit lives on in the CU Football family. The Buffs4Life Foundation is ready to help those who have worn the Black in Gold in times of need.

 

Buffs4Life means just that. You are a Buff for life and not just for the four years you wore the uniform. It is a great honor for all our board members and for those who participate in our cause to be a part of something that brings our community, the University of Colorado, and the Buff family closer together.

 

We will continue to support and honor Spoon’s family each year and reach out to other Buffs in their time of need. We will be committed to supporting them shoulder to shoulder through their struggles.  Buffs4Life is also dedicated to extending our support to the community by supporting children as part of the Denver Safe House program and giving back to the CU athletic department to support current CU student athletes, especially the football program.
